C S Risk Management Ltd was started by the two current owners of the business 10 years ago. Specialising in cyber security, including ISO27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials, Technical Vulnerability Audit and Industrial Control Systems Security, they already provided the services to a number of blue chip national and international clients, but had reached a glass ceiling in terms of new business development.

The business went to market looking for an outright buyer, or perhaps the right partner to assist in the development of the business, particularly as both directors were prepared to continue with the business for the foreseeable future. 

The latter was found in the form of Clearcomm Ltd, who were already in this space, but didn't have the technical support to provide to their existing client base. They were already part of the Kingston Smith Group, which is one of the top 20 accountancy and audit firms in the UK, and as such were able to tap into a potential new 'sweet spot' client base that numbered in the thousands.
