The Business
Bridge Systems Ltd is a specialist provider of two-way radio communications, wireless networking and antenna solutions, based in Fife, Scotland. Built over more than 25 years by owners Mike Deery and Jennifer Walker, the business earned a strong reputation for designing, deploying and supporting DMR and TETRA radio systems for customers across emergency services, logistics, manufacturing, oil and gas, public transport and utilities.
It is the kind of business that rarely shouts about itself but is trusted by everyone who works with it: technically excellent, relationship-led, and underpinned by long-standing customer partnerships, an experienced engineering team and an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality communications solutions.
The Challenge
After more than two decades of building the company, the owners were ready to retire and realise the value they had created. As with any retirement sale, finding the right long-term home for the business, its employees and its customers mattered just as much as achieving the right commercial outcome.
Bridge Systems is a specialist, engineering-led business, so the ideal buyer needed to recognise the value of its technical expertise, experienced team and long-standing customer relationships, not simply the financial performance. The owners wanted confidence that everything they had built would continue to thrive under new ownership, while also securing the right deal for themselves.
As with any transaction of this nature, the process required a committed buyer with the financial backing to complete the acquisition, alongside careful management of due diligence and negotiations to keep the deal progressing smoothly. Protecting the sellers’ position while maintaining momentum throughout the transaction was key to achieving the right outcome on the right terms.
What We Did
From the outset, the focus was on identifying a buyer that recognised the value of Bridge Systems beyond its financial performance. Through our national network we identified Radiocoms, the UK’s leading critical communications partner, as a natural strategic fit, bringing together two businesses with complementary expertise, shared values and a commitment to engineering excellence.
Acting on behalf of the shareholders throughout the transaction, we managed a structured sale process from valuation and market positioning through to buyer introductions, negotiation and completion.
Once the introduction had been made, we led the commercial negotiations and coordinated the transaction on behalf of the sellers, agreeing heads of terms, managing the due diligence process and maintaining momentum through the negotiation of the Share Purchase Agreement. Throughout, our role was to keep the process moving, protect our clients’ interests and ensure all parties remained aligned through to completion, working closely alongside the owners’ professional advisers.
We were pleased to work with Alan Mitchell and the team at Thomson Cooper Accountants, together with Stephen Grant and Ruairidh Cameron at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP, whose expertise and support were instrumental in successfully completing the transaction.
The Outcome
The sale of Bridge Systems Ltd to Radiocoms Systems Ltd completed successfully in July 2026. For Radiocoms, backed by Total Capital Partners, the acquisition marked the company’s first since its management buyout earlier that year, reflecting the strength and reputation of the business Mike Deery and Jennifer Walker had built over more than 25 years.
The transaction provides Bridge Systems’ customers and employees with the backing of a larger organisation, offering broader capabilities and additional resources while maintaining the responsive, relationship-led service the business has always been known for.
For Mike and Jennifer, the sale represented a successful retirement exit, allowing them to realise the value they had created and step away with confidence that the business, its team and its customers are in safe hands.
In Their Words
Mike Deery and Jennifer Walker, former owners of Bridge Systems Ltd, commented:
After 25 years, deciding to retire and sell the business we’d built was always going to be a significant moment. Business Partnership guided us through the whole process with clear, honest advice and a firm hand on the detail. They understood what mattered to us; the right home for our team and customers as well as the right deal, and got us there. We couldn’t have asked for better support.

Bridge Systems has built an outstanding business with an experienced team, longstanding customer relationships and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality communications solutions. We are delighted to welcome the team to Radiocoms and look forward to investing in our combined capabilities to deliver even greater value for customers.

Cameron Young, the Business Partnership Partner who handled the sale, added:
It was a real pleasure to work with Mike and Jennifer. They had built a genuinely excellent business and knew exactly what mattered to them in retirement – the right home for their team and customers, as well as the right deal. Our job was to protect their position and run a structured process that delivered on both, and they were a pleasure to guide through it every step of the way. We are delighted we got it over the line on terms that let Mike and Jennifer step away with real confidence in the future of the business they built.
